Hublot – Classic Fusion Enamel Britto

Associating Hublot with the traditional art of enamelling may come as a surprise. However, on closer inspection, this piece still embodies all the Rolex replica watches brand’s distinctive codes and values.

The Classic Fusion Enamel Britto is the fusion of arts and crafts. A link between a traditional art – “grand feu” enamelling – and contemporary art movements – Pop Art and Cubism – in the work of Romero Britto. It is the union of two arts. The blending of two complementary crafts.

Artists in their own right, enamellists are masters at working in miniature and working with the properties of materials and the temperatures required for their fusion. Guided by Britto’s fun, brightly coloured artwork, the master dial-maker reproduces the outline of the design to the right scale, before stamping the dial in white gold to prepare it for champlevé enamelling. The enamellist grinds the enamel in a mortar before applying thin layers of the powder to the piece. The colours are applied one at a time. To reproduce the original design as faithfully as possible, the enamellist works with the Panerai replica watches sale enamel in the same way as Britto works with acrylics. The enamellist selects 12 opaque colours – the most delicate and sensitive to firing – from the 250 shades in the colour palette. Each colour is fixed to the metal through successive firings at a temperature of approx. 800°C, until the final pattern appears after several days’ work. Britto’s iconic designs are reproduced perfectly by the champlevé enamel. In fact, the enamel is divided into cells, or “cloisons”, which are so delicately produced that they are almost invisible. In creating this dial, it was a real challenge to transcribe in miniature all the harmony and energy of Britto’s work.

The Classic Fusion Enamel Britto symbolises the fusion of time. It transposes an age-old art into one of the most modern designs. Britto’s designs take on a three dimensional appearance in the two dimensional space of the dial.

The Classic Fusion Enamel Britto is available in platinum or ceramic with a black alligator strap stitched onto rubber; it will be produced as a 50-piece limited edition for the Rolex fake watches ceramic version and a 30-piece limited edition for the platinum version.

IWC Schaffhausen presents the new Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT”

For the first time, IWC Schaffhausen assumed its role as Timing Partner for the renowned Goodwood Members’ Meeting, held this year for the 73rd time. Against the exclusive backdrop of motor racing’s unique weekend, the luxury Rolex replica watches manufacturer unveiled its new Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT”. Made of solid boron carbide and limited to just 25 pieces, the watch also commemorated IWC’s ten-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG. As a further highlight, IWC and Mercedes-AMG organized a race between the legendary first AMG racing car – affectionately known as the “Legend of Spa” –, the new sports car Mer cedes-AMG GT and a Mercedes F1 W04.

While the super-tuned engines were revving up a storm, somewhere just off the 3.8-kilometre track in West Sussex, England, was the barely perceptible ticking of a trailblazing new product. Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen was presenting its Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT” (Ref. IW324602), the first watch worldwide to feature a case made of boron carbide, currently the hardest ceramic of them all. “As a successful amalgam of outstanding technical achievement, a quest for perfection and purist design, this exclusive timepiece has clear parallels with motor racing,” explains IWC CEO Georges Kern. “The Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT” will be available in a tiny edition of just 25 watches and is an unequivocal declaration of the significance of our ten-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG.” The name chosen for the new Omega replica watches is a tribute to the new Mercedes-AMG sports car, the second vehicle built entirely in-house by the performance brand of Mercedes-Benz. The two companies cultivate a historical heritage in two very different fields, encouraging innovative engineering and a high proportion of skilled manual labour. With their commitment to quality and simple,clear-cut design, both brands are bound by a clear affinity for performance and efficiency as well as a passion for technical progress and precision. Since January 2013, IWC has built on its involvement in motor racing as Official Engineering Partner of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team and has two fine brand ambassadors in Lewis Hamiltonand Nico Rosberg.

THE “LEGEND OF SPA” ON THE CIRCUIT

The Goodwood Members’ Meeting is the first in a series of historic races that can count on IWC Schaffhausen’s supportin the years ahead. In 2014, the Goodwood Road Racing Club (GRRC) re-established its club racing tradition with the Members’ Meeting. These races, held at the circuit that opened in 1948, are open exclusively to members and were a resounding success between 1949 and 1966. The hallmark of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting has always been a world-class field of historic racing cars and well-known drivers. In its role as Timing Partner for the GoodwoodMembers’ Meeting and as a reference to Mercedes-AMG and its ten-year partnership, together with Mercedes-AMG, IWC Schaffhausen brought three spectacular AMG vehicles to Goodwood: the latest Mercedes-AMG GT, one Mercedes F1 W04, and the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG – AMG’s first vehicle, which created a sensation in 1971 when it clinched second place in the 24-hour touring car race at Spa. In an unconventional “race against time” at Goodwood, German ex-racing driver Jochen Mass took the 300 SEL 6.8 AMG through its paces on the circuit while his Austrian colleague Karl Wendlinger got behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT and set out in pursuit. Anthony Davidson, winner of last year’s FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and former FORMULA ONE driver, was in no hurry with his FORMULA ONE racing car at the start, but soon moved into top gear and put in a fantastic performance to cross the finishing line at the same time as the other two vehicles. Apart from this spectacle, visitors to the Goodwood Members’ Meeting witnessed a series of keenly contested races and high-speed demonstrations featuring cars from the pre-war era to 1990s Group C prototypes. Among others, FORMULA ONE cars from the 1970s and a group of wild 250 mph Group C Le Mans cars demonstrated their prowess. At the end of the race weekend, IWC Schaffhausen honoured the driver who had recorded the fastest lap time with a special timepiece from the Ingenieur line: the Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil (Ref. IW378505) is a tribute to the historic Mercedes-Benz racing cars, which won countless Grand Prix races and championships between 1934 and 1939, and were successful once again in 1954/55.

WATCH WORLD PREMIERE IN BORON CARBIDE

With the launch of the Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT” in solid boron carbide, IWC Schaffhausen sets another milestone in watchmaking history: almost as hard as a diamond and as light as aluminium, boron carbide is an innovative material that unites incredible, contrasting qualities to deliver unique performance. It alludes to the partnership with Mercedes-AMG, with a case made of several parts in pure boron carbide: the first time this material has been used in the watch industry. This high-performance ceramic is one of the hardest and most scratch-resistant materials available, and it is produced in five timeconsuming stages. IWC’s traditional prowess in precision technology is embodied by the Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT”’s in-house 80110-calibre, which has an integrated shock-absorption system and is one of the most robust movements made in Schaffhausen. As a tribute to its namesake, the designers of the Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT” have elegantly combined the colour black with stylish yellow elements that reference AMG’s exclusive colour, “solarbeam”. The eye-catching screws in the bezel and crown are made of black zirconium oxide. A glance through the see-through sapphire-glass back  revealsa high-precision mechanical movement with a blackened rotor. The new watch is secured to the wrist with a rugged, skin-friendly rubber strap. With the black Dinamica® inlay, which is set off with yellow quilted stitching, the Rolex fake watches features the same innovative microfibre used by Mercedes-AMG to pad the steering wheel, seat upholstery and headliner in the new Mercedes-AMG GT. The Ingenieur Automatic Edition “AMG GT” is limited to 25 pieces and available from selected IWC retailers.

Zenith – Elite 6150

Zenith presents the Elite 6150 model equipped with a new Manufacture movement: the Elite 6150 calibre. This new mechanical automatic movement is the contemporary version of the famous Elite base movement developed in the early 1990s – an ultra-thin calibre that earned the title “Best Movement of the Year” when presented at the Basel Fair in 1994. In response to the demands of our times, the Zenith engineers and developers have chosen to enhance its performance, as well as its versatility by means of a minimum 100-hour power reserve, a broader 30 mm diameter, along with a central sweep-seconds hand. They have also been careful to preserve the exceptionally slender nature of a movement measuring a mere 3.92 mm thick! Driven by the new Elite 6150 calibre, the Elite 6150 model is distinguished by its classicism and its understated elegance. Its slim 42 mm-diameter case frames a pure, cambered dial punctuated by sleek, graceful hands. A model clearly built to last.

With the Elite 6150 model and its new Elite calibre,Zenith returns to the very roots of the traditional expertise cultivated by the House: that of an authentic watch Manufacture capable of developing prestigious complicated calibres as well as precise and reliable classic movements. To achieve this, it is bringing back to the forefront its famous Elite base calibre presented in 1994. While this three-hand Zenith movement is still considered one of the most dependable on the market, it had hitherto remained in the shadow of its illustrious relative, the legendary El Primero chronograph calibre. Such a lack of exposure was quite unjustified, since this sturdy and versatile movement has for more than 20 years been impeccably driving both ultra-thin Rolex replica watches sale and gem-set models from the Zenith range. Determined to perfect its proven qualities and to deploy its virtually unlimited potential within its collections, the Manufacture has therefore undertaken to raise the profile of the Elite calibre. In its contemporary version, the new Elite movement is enriched with enhancements meeting current demands such as a 100-hour power reserve and a more generous diameter. Thereby raised to peak capacity, the new Elite 6150 calibre is destined to be interpreted through a number of upcoming new developments and to occupy the place it deserves within the offer from the brand with the guiding star.

HOROLOGICAL GENIUS EXPRESSED IN COMPLETE SIMPLICITY

Elite. A name that speaks volumes in terms of the ambitions fuelling this movement developed by Zenith in 1994, the goal being to provide a robust, reliable, accurate and ultra-thin complement to its famous El Primero chronograph. The first Elite calibre already signalled Zenith’s ambition to be a full-fledged Manufacture creating its entire range of movements, from the most complex to the most ingenious. This was a rare phenomenon within the Swiss Rolex replica watches industry at the time, especially since very few companies even had their own base movement. Studies on this ultra-thin, adaptable movement began in 1991 and the Elite calibre was born three years later. The brand’s first development to benefit from Computer Assisted Design (CAD) technologies, the multi-purpose movement also intended for other companies was issued in several different versions right from the start. This 11-ligne calibre with its more than 50-hour power reserve was envisaged as a long-term product destined to evolve constantly over the years. The Elite calibre made a strong impact at the time of its presentation during the Basel Fair in 1994. Experts lavished fulsome praise on its many assets and noted its exceptional slimness. The trade press even awarded it the title “Best Movement of the Year”. Despite the immediate interest it sparked and a reputation that has remained on a par with its undeniable qualities, the Elite calibre has not yet earned the same degree of fame as the El Primero chronograph movement. By modernising it and notably integrating the latest technical and aesthetic developments, as well as attuning it to current requirements, the Manufacture Zenith is displaying its determination to bring the Elite movement firmly back to the forefront and to give it a starring role in its future developments.

FOCUSING ON ESSENTIALS

With the aim of making the new Elite 6150 the basis of numerous future variations, the R&D team at Zenith opted to perfect its essential characteristics and to further enhance its performance. It notably addressed the task of doubling its power reserve – previously amounting to 55 hours – by adding a second barrel. The new Elite 6150 calibre now has a generous more than four-day power reserve. Throughout the development process, the movement thickness was the main focus of attention and safeguarding the movement’s original slimness was an absolute must. This challenge has been successfully met, since its 195 assembled parts form an ensemble no more than 3.92 mm thick. Meanwhile, the diameter of the calibre has been considerably enlarged so as to match the sizes of contemporary cheap IWC replica watches and thus provide a base movement that is more flexible to accommodate a variety of functions in the future. Another notable modification is that the seconds, formerly displayed in a subdial at 9 o’clock, are now displayed by a central direct-drive seconds hand, thereby ensuring improved amplitude, precision and reliability. Thus powering central hour, minute and seconds hands, the Elite 6150 calibre beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

SLIM AND RESTRAINED

The first timepiece to house the new Elite calibre, the Elite 6150 model features an entirely redesigned ultra-thin case of which the 42 mm diameter, a first for Zenith, will become a new benchmark size for the brand. The pure, restrained design of this case expresses the care devoted by the Manufacture to a process of constant self-renewal, driven by a will to endure and to pursue a quest for essentials. This new ultra-thin steel case redesigned in a pebble shape features slim, flowing lines accentuated by tapered, slightly sloping lugs. Water-resistant to a depth of 30 metres, the case of the Elite 6150 reveals through its transparent back the mechanism in motion and the steady dance of its oscillating weight delicately adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif. The timeless classicism of this timepiece exuding an inherent sense of elegance continues on the display side with a cambered silver-toned dial punctuated by extremely slender baton-type hands. In a striking trompe-l’oeil effect, the long, slender hour-markers hollowed out to form delicate grooves create a distinct sense of depth. These subtle refined touches are matched by a rubber-lined alligator strap fitted with a comfortable triple-blade folding clasp.

A NEW ERA FOR ZENITH CALIBRES

In unveiling this new Elite 6150 calibre, Zenith reaffirms the brand’s determination to honour its status as a Manufacture and heralds the renewal of its range of “in-house” movements. This contemporary evolution of a sturdy and accurate historical calibre embodies a best Rolex replica watches solid and lasting foundation for future variations and developments.

In honour of merit

A few days after Jacques Duchêne passed away, I searched various print and online newspapers for articles on this truly exceptional personality in Swiss Swiss Rolex replica watchmaking. And was surprised by how little I found. As though a career spanning several decades could be written in the sand when he left us pages that are carved in the stone of an era. And so I would like to briefly remember him here. I may not be the most obvious person to do so, given the parallel course of our careers, and the fact that we never really knew each other beyond the occasional handshake. Yet the role Jacques Duchêne played in the history of watchmaking demands more than a few hasty lines if we are to pay tribute to his merit. Or rather merits: consistency, integrity and vision. From the time he embarked on his career, at the age of 21, Jacques Duchêne was what I would call, borrowing from political vocabulary, an enlightened servant of the state. Three states in fact: Rolex, Baselworld and the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry.

As head of communication at Rolex, always respectful of its deepest heritage, he made sure the brand remained what it is: a turris eburnea, an ivory tower with a powerful identity, sometimes distant, isolationist even, but with absolute integrity. Rolex has never wanted to commingle with the world of luxury and Fine Rolex fake watchmaking, even though this is where it belongs. “Rolex is Rolex”, Jacques Duchêne would say when defining its perimeter and vision. Even after retiring in 1999, I believe he remained instrumental in shaping the brand’s strategy.

And so to Baselworld. Jacques Duchêne was always its most committed partisan, in the most literal sense of the word. In 1996 he became president of the Exhibitors Committee, and from this new position showed he had the courage and obstinacy to turn the event into something far greater than a trade gathering. He made it the rallying point for Swiss and international Swiss Breitling replica watchmaking. He wasn’t afraid to show that Swiss excellence stands up to comparison, including on the banks of the Rhine. I have never been faced with an ivory tower myself, but rather found myself at the heart of a village, surrounded by magnificent mansions which had to be brought together in a single, harmonious community. A community whose vision of Fine Watchmaking can exalt the summit of the pyramid so as to illuminate the rest.

Lastly, then, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry of which he was vice president. He championed stronger Swiss-Made criteria, with the conviction that this was not merely a label but a sign of authenticity for the Confederation. A man of exemplary intellectual rigour, Jacques Duchêne was an outstanding figure in the history of Swiss fake Rolex watchmaking of the past fifty years. A merit we must honour.
